limiting photo upload size for members

I feel embarrassed to have to submit a new post about this, but I have search high and low with no results that come even close to answering this question.

Is it possible to limit the photo size that users upload, or perform any type of resizing? Most of my members resize their own images, but once we hit the go-live on our website we will be bombarded with users that are unable to for one reason or another. I thought I had read somewhere that you could restrict the photo dimensions, but I can't even find that option.. am I blind??

You can limit the upload size in your php settings. I actually increased mine without too much trouble. I also modified the upload page with a small line of text that tells the user what the limits are.

so there really is no option to resize them as part of the upload? My users have very limited technical ability so I have to find a way to make it magically work for them.

Limiting the size and prompting them with a message just means they wont attempt to upload the photos any more :(

Try offering them a link where they can re-size themselves with a easy online generator. They can down load a pic to your site, they can re-size on a free site.
