This is a clone of the Today I Learned (TIL) feature found on the popular social site Reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned
Site members can submit TIL postings whenever they have just discovered something amazing about the world, something that contradicts common knowledge or a fact that is particularly important and of interest to other site members.
TIL is a slang way of saying, "Pay attention: This might be good information for you" or "You might find this interesting."
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Quite simply: each user can contribute to the site and submit their own story of interesting stuff they have learned. Members most post a link to the website where they found the information. Posts must be short and to the Point (Admin can configure the Maximum allowable post length).
As soon as a post is online, members can vote for it in two different ways:
a) Vote UP (when they agree that the information is news worthy)
or
b) Vote DOWN (when they reckon the information isn't worthwhile)
NSFW FEATURE
Members can flag their Postings as NSFW. When this is done, a warning page is shown first with the option to Continue to the Website or Cancel.
BROWSE and SEARCH
Members can browse Hot posts (based on up votes received), Recent, Top Rated or Popular posts.
Search functionality to allow searching submissions by Keyword and Categories.
ANONYMOUS FEATURE
Members can choose to make a Post anonymous so the identity of the publisher is not revealed
FEEDBACK
Members can Rate or Comment on Posts.
PAGE BLOCKS
Block on the home page to display submissions, with ability to filter by Recent, Top, Popular.
Block on the profile page to display Member's submissions.
ADMINISTRATION FEATURES
Admin can allow automatic approval, otherwise admin has to approve all new submissions.
Admin can Post-Moderate submissions.
Admin interface to easily manage the Categories.
Administrator can configure the settings so that posts are either automatically published or the post will have to be approved by an Administrator.

My community is for public school students in China. They are very busy with homework so it really difficult to motivate them to get online. This app makes life easy for them. All the have to do is get on for a few minutes and report to the community one thing they learn for the day. It reinforce what they remember.. Again the developer installed and I have no problem with it.
