Support forum for IBDW EVO Wall - part 3

 The box to deny unconfirmed profiles has always been checked. I also have another free mod of yours installs that denies unconfirmed from other ability. Even with this another setting or issue is causing it to show on the feed when unconfirmed users join.

Under very certain conditions I get the following error; kindly advise a solution please;

It happens when someone joins and I go into admin and delete the member. 

Photos on a news feed do not get Shared on LinkedIn. Even any images on a Link. Works just fine for FB, but on LinkedIn it leaves a blank space on the left of the description.

I keep my site open for guest to write on news feed wall. I noticed that when a guest write on the wall it will show a broken link of avatar and you can see the message on the wall : http://www.toottii.com/MikaF

I understand and in some manner do agree. I just wish for my content that I write on my News Feed to be duplicated on my own Feed in Twitter, LinkedIn and FB, So only when I write in "What are you thinking or doing?"in my own account page do I want to duplicate on the Feed on the other sites. Not what I write on my members walls. In any event these are not forced Shares, but can be controlled and set by the member themselves.

All the members on my site do not necessarily have accounts with all of the above mentioned sites. I do not much care for FB, but just to remain with the program, I wish to consider implementing this.

I hope I am making sense.

A few weeks ago I asked for help about 3 questions I had.

1. Where and how can I change the balloon in the newsfeed?
I want to put the comments and Likes in a separate balloon next to the content. Now there al in one balloon.
Also I want to make the pictures ( when you added a photo ) larger ( width: 500px ) and delete the zoom icon. How can I do that?

2. Where can I change the structure of some "balloons"? For example:
Now: ... ( username ) added the link: ... ( the url )
We want: ... ( username ) added a link. ( link is a shortcut to the url )

3. If you share a photo, video, link etc. I like to add the person from which profile the content is from. Example:

Most of this module utilizes encrypted code I was told. Unless its a styling request chances are you will not be able to accomplish it on your own due to code encryption.

Photos uploaded using the content box on the newsfeed are not being shown on the most recent public photos. They are not showing on the news feed either unless you are logged in. They are being treated like some sort of private photo.

Anyone have a clue, seems developer is a no show these days;

I have set my news feed to display 20 feeds, well all was fine and this morning it only shows 10. I checked the admin and all is just as before. Any ideas please?

Guest are able to click on user comments to "add as a friend" next to their name. Then members receive friend request from visitors who do not have an account. Image attached. Guest on my site only have permission to view only the news feed.

 
Members are also getting the email saying _____ wants to be your friend. So unless I have something wrong then guest who can view the feed can send friend request.

How can I remove the zoom icon in the photo's?

The option "Deny access to the unconfirmed profiles" (true) disable the access to the Wall to the unconfirmed profile.

The other profiles can see into the home page the info "ProfileXYZ joined" because this is an information spied by the module Boonex Spy.

Personally we think that Boonex Spy must be write this information after the confirmation, not at the moment of the registration.

Anyway, if you want remove this type of information you can edit the file mqconditions.php

and remove the lang key:

'_bx_spy_profile_has_joined'

Abother solution is to check if the profile is active when the EvoWall displays the post, but this type of control adds delay to the script and so, maybe it's better to wait if Boonex will fix this bug on Spy.

 For the photos, as you can see into the market post description, you can choose two mode:

1) Enlarged format, the picture is displayed using the max space available on the block

2) Normal, the image is displayed with a thumbnail that you can enlarge thanks the zoom or open in the photo module page

The Wall displays the news of the members, the guest is not a member.

You must disable the wall to the guest

I did that but how can I set that the width of the image always is 506px and the max-height is 287px?
If the image is larger ( height ) than 287 px, only the upper ( or the image centered ( height ) ? ) 287px is displayed.
How can I set that?

Also I want to change the structure of the balloon...
I want to put all text below the pictures / video's. ( example: ... added the link: ... --> must be below the image )

In the standard Boonex wall it's easy done, but here it seems likely impossible?

 To set the width (max-width) you can open the settings of Evo Wall and insert the width value on the field:

"Default width for photo zoom (px):"

By default this value is 410, this means that if a picture is more large you'll see it with a width of 410px.

Picture with a width<410px will not enlarged (to preserve the picture resolution)

When a picture is resized to the max value you have set for the width, the height will be calculated automatically.

As last thing, if you refer to the picture preview, you can change the width for the style of the class:

 Check if you have a js error. If the site is not error free, the other script can cresh.

We can't reproduce this error, now we have set the number of news to 15. (you can see the result at http://bambinisinasce.com )

I understand, but we want a unique design and not the same as any other website.
We don't want to change your code only move it a little...

We want to create a new div class next to the one there's now (messagio) and move the comment code to that balloon.

If the module doesn't work because we did a wrong adjustment it's our responsibility!
Because we only move code to another div next to it, it doesn't causes errors...

We also can give you a login to our site, so you can make the div for yourself and move the comments in to it, so you know for sure we don't screw things up...
We really want this adjustment, so please help us!

I have a production (public) server and a dev server (not public) for the same site.  If I use the EVO activation code on the dev server will it still work on the production server?

The share link API of Linkedin, a new social network added in order to satisfy a request from the members (Linkedin share was not present by default), allows to share a link but not an image. When the Linkedin API for the link sharing will allow us to share also an image we'll add this feature.

we have sent the codes, you have the right to get a new code because you have installed the dev site under a subdomain of the same domain actived (you can also install the dev site in a subfolder of the main domain).

Not all the contents can be shared. You can share photos, videos, links, events but not, for example, a message of text.

What type of post you can't share?

 I will email you the site and username password, you can take a look. It was a link I could not share. What I did then is Share it within the members on my site, which of course created another post, and this second post I was able to share.

I'm now on your site for the test, but

I see some posts whitout nickname...this means you have some records on the table "Profiles" where the field "Nickname" is empty. Remove these records!!!

 But some can be shared and some not. I have never seen this before.

I've already write to you directly via Boonex Messages area. Anyway I replay also here:

in general every member can decide to disable the share for the other members and allow the share only to his friends.

Every profile can manage the privacy for his contents (from the profile privacy settings).

Also, some contents can be shared, the most part. The post you can't share is for the new member join, the friendship, the personal messages.

The others (photos, videos, sites, events, ....) can be shared.

I hope this can help you.

One issue i know is not working on the 7.1 release is You like a photo in PhotoDeluxe it is not showing on the newsfeed

Also on the People you may know on a fresh install with just EvoWall and Photo Deluxe and Col 1 and Col 3 installed it still show's

USERNAME(2)     when there are couples enabled and couples that are actually on the site!

Please fix this and do not ignore it no longer i have posted this several times!

In wich file ( and rule ) I can change the sentence: ... ( nickname ) added a new photo ... ( link to photo )
I searched in Basecore.php and in the language files, but with no results.
All other I find within the language files.

I found the right file and made the right adjustments.
The comments are now in a separate box next to the content posted on the wall.

In basecore.php I can put ( almost ) every commentbox in a separate box except I can't find the lines for the "text" update --> What are you thinking of doing? Where can I find these?

Also if i load .$miadata. in the content balloon I get the icon of the content I uploaded. ( picture, video etc. )
I only want to show the date. Where can I change that?

That are the only things I ever need to know about your module. All the rest I've done without help.

I have album covers attached to my sounds, is there any way to get the wall to pick up the image instead of the default sound image?

This happens when trying to share in-site forum link (attachment).

By the way, my old complaint about photos not being inserted into Photos section, when uploaded via EVO wall, is no longer valid, it was my own oversight. :)

In using Groups and I used the Forum, the News Feed does not pick up on that. it picks up comments made my the Group Members, but not any made in the Group Forum. Is that by design?

I recently installed EVO & I'm extremely happy with it! Quality work guys.

I just noticed the time stamping doesn't seem to be working properly. I'm getting ie. "-307 minutes ago" after posting. Take a look at the screenshot below. Thanks.

 Go into EVO admin and put the appropriate value in "Offset (in seconds)" it's been discussed here before.

 I figured it was discussed, but didn't come up with any results using search. -18420 did the trick!

The offset solves the difference between the clocks of MySQL and Php Servers.

If the difference is of 2 hours, you must set 7200 for the offset.

Sometime after this change, you see 4 hours of difference, this means that you must not type 7200 but -7200.

So, try to insert the sing - (minus) before the value.
