Communities

A community is a social unit of any size that has an interest in helping each other. This module facilitates communities to gather virtually in an online environment and share common interests regardless of physical location. The module gives the ability to post News, Events and Sponsors information and also facilitates the collection of donations for a community.

DONATIONS

A community can optionally accept donations.

Site Members as well as Visitors can make donations.

Donations can be made anonymously.


COMMUNITY EVENTS

Communities can post details of their Events. There are two different possibilities.
a) There is a built-in Events section.
b) I have also added integration with default Boonex Events module. With this method, there is an option to hide Community Events from showing in the regular Events section. If this option is activated, they will only show up on the Community page.
Administrator has the option of choosing to use the built-in Community Event feature or the Boonex Event integration.

PAID FEATURED COMMUNITIES

This is an optional feature that allows a Site Administrator to charge fees for Featuring Community Listings.

Admin can set the cost per day for a listing to remain featured.


COMMUNITY NEWS

Community Admin can post news items to keep their members and the public aware of their activities and what's happening regarding the community.

A block with the latest posted news is shown on Community View page.

Sub-menu added to community page to allow browsing all Community News .


COMMUNITY SPONSORS

Many Communities have Sponsors that contribute to them. Community Admin can now highlight and promote those Sponsors by listing them on their page.

A block with the latest Sponsors is shown on Community View page.

Sub-menu added to community page to allow browsing all Sponsors.


COMMUNITY VENUES

Some Communities physically meet at venues for Communities etc. Community Admin can now list those Venues on the Communities page.

A block with the latest Venues is shown on Community View page.

Sub-menu added to community page to allow browsing all Venues.


RSS FEEDS

This exciting feature allows individual Communities to have their own RSS Feed. This ability can be restricted to particular Membership levels.

Has the ability to inject multiple feeds on an individual Community page.


ADVANCED ACCESS RESTRICTION
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Adds the ability for members to create "Invitation Only" Communities. Access can be restricted to Fans only and the Community Admin will have to send an Invitation for others to Join. The Invitation will be delivered to both Internal and External mail and will have an Accept Invite link.


COMMUNITIES LOCATION DRILLDOWN (with States)

The mod includes a listing of States/Provinces for all Countries. When adding an Community, the State field is automatically populated upon selection of a Country.

You can also drill down Communities based on location.

A section is included which lists all countries in the world. Upon selection of a country, all states/provinces in that country are displayed. Upon selection of a state/province, the communities located at that location are displayed.

ACCOUNT PAGE

Communities in My Area - The account page has a block displaying the Communities located in the same City that the member is located.


INTEGRATED GOOGLE MAPS (V3)

SOCIAL SHARING, BROADCASTING and INVITATION

Allows sharing of the community on Twitter, Facebook and other popular networks.

Community administrators can broadcast messages to their fan base.

Members can invite others to be a part of a community.


ADVANCED MEMBERSHIP FILTER

Adds the ability to limit joining of an individual Community to a particular Membership Level.

Adds the ability to limit viewing of an individual Community to a particular Membership Level or limit viewing to Community Admins only.

ADVANCED MEDIA FEATURES

Admin can restrict upload of Videos, Photos, Sounds and Files to particular membership levels

Allows members to Embed multiple Youtube Videos.


SEARCH FEATURE

Allows searching by Keyword, Categories, Country, State, City
