Hookie is still in "polishing" department and here's the #4 iteration of the BETA period. Like I said before Dolphin 7 is planned to be stable, really stable, really really stable, hence so many BETAs and testing. We hope that these delays will only bring good to Dolphin users.

Unfortunately, we had to do fresh-install this time, due to big changes in albums structure and privacy settings.

I know that the forum is the place for bugs, but I would like to point out 2 major ones that I hear a lot about.
1. The date selector for birth and events is cumbersome. A 30 year old has to click his mouse 30 times to get to his year of birth. A 3 box selector would be better with Month, Day, Year, just like facebook has.

Bug fixing doesn't take much time. We had delays due to privacy settings remake and constant changes in media albums.
Why can the 'Photo of the day' be updated via Ajax, but advancing through album photos takes a page refresh?
Photo album nagigation is too cumbersome. For God's sake, go read my last Photo Album blog.
Then again.... nagigation sounds about right.
Is the demo updated too? It will be a good thing to also update the demo when a new beta pops.. this way we can test dolphin on boonex server and be sure that the errors we get while testing are not from our server config..

Great to see you have included a privace module similar to what we had worked through together on some time ago.
Q. Would it be possible to add 'family' to the privacy selection option?
(facebook is now recognising there is some content that users are happy for their family to view but not their friends to view and vica-versa).

In our post earlier today we identified the following bug:
Bug 1. Profile>Profile comments>record a video comment>adobe flash player settings>allow
- When we click allow, 100% of the time an IE8 error message displays (IE8 has stopped working - error - IE8 will shut down)
**The same Bug occurs in the Chat section when we go to 'cast video' in the 'My Video' section i.e. (IE8 has stopped working - error - IE8 will shut down)
Why D7's loading time takes longer than other scripts? I have tried in my shared server as well as the demo site.
Is it possible to improve the loading time?

Q: The Demo D7 does not appear to have any functionality for a user to report content and/or other users?
Note 1: For the ability of a site administrator to manage a site, it would be crucial for users of a website to be able to report any/all content and/or users direct to a website administrator.
Note 2: Every page needs a community watch/report button (clicking the report button could pop up a box allowing a user to state what content/user see more
Q1. The D7 demo does not appear to have advertising banner space and/or a user directed advertising tool?
Note: Advertising is where a large portion of income can be generated to maintain/ fund the continued existence of a website.
Q2. Are you planning to install a banner advertising space on each page and/or an advertising selling module similar to what is offered on facebook?
I am new to dolphin and very much interested in this new version of the software. Privacy is very important to me and it pleases me to see the work put in to get this sorted.
However, with regards to privacy there are a few things I miss. On my desktop my profile is shown as public (unfortunately no link that brings me to the privacy setting for this) and when I go to Privacy Settings, I can not find an option to set my profile as private, or to one of the other options. What I did see more
I am about to implement the new Dolphin build for my church cub scout pack. With many 1000's of troops and packs in the US, the template I create may evolve into a favorite model for many packs. I have direct access and high visibility into the leadership of the Boy Scouts in Texas. Right now, Joomla reigns as the Open Source tool of choice for all the scout sites I've see more
As for a Unity login to view the Dolphin demo, I do not think it will be good for potential customers for us to demand Unity registration. see more

I purchased hosting from your recomended list; but the dolphin7b4 didn't work
every time i upload sound or video it seems ok,
but the file dosn't really get uploaded to the server
do I need to buy a didicated server in order to run dolphin or it can run on shared hosting?
Please help me find the answer

do you think I need special setting for ffmpeg or do i need RMS server?

Sometimes Shared is not enough to install Dolphin properly and you have to have at least VPS.
