7.0.0-7.0.1 Update can not be applied

Hey all, I am very new around here so please bear with me. I am new to Dolphin but not at all new to similar software. But no expert by any means.

I installed v.7.0 a couple of weeks ago and played around with it just to see how everything works. I just attempted to upgrade to v.7.0.1 and uploaded all the files from the Dolphin=Patch-v.7.0.1 file. I deleted the .htaccess file in the "upgrade" directory, then ran the upgrade executable. I immediately recived the error:

BoonEx Dolphin Upgrade Script
7.0.0-7.0.1  Update can not be applied

I really have no idea even where to start to look. File permissions all seem to be correct, and there is nothing I found searching these forums that seem to fit for me.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, I am getting this error too, it also seems you can't restore it to what it was before the patch, so essentially I'm stuck with nothing to do. I have comtemplated on re-installing everything and just doing over. But hopefully there is an easier fix to this.

Well, as can be seen, I never did get a proper response to my original question. So now I have a new one! v.7.0.2 has been released, so can I upgrade from v.7.0.0? Or do I need to go to v.7.0.1 first? (which doesn't seem to work for me)

You need to verify what version you actually have. Update cannot be applied usally means it's already running 7.0.1 thus cannot be updated.

Look in inc/header.inc.php and see what $site['build'] is set for.

It may be possible you origionally installed 7.0.1 and not 7.0.0

if it helps i had the same problem....

i did a bit of looking about in the upgrade files and noticed that the upgrade check files looks to the database and a temporary version number im guessing it assigns while its running.

so i changed it back from 7.0.1 (which it wasnt as it hadnt installed correctly) and reset it back to 7.0.0 then ran the upgrade again and it worked a fine.

i think its in sys_options (if in doubt you can find the database location in the upgrade files in the check.php

hope that helps, ive had no errors and upgraede to 7.0.2 from there. But i wont guarantee its the right thing to do !

You are correct. Its in sys_options.  Sometimes you have to remove the version number all together and just leave it blank.
