Faceboo Connect!

When advertising my site on facebook, i would like to use the facebook connect URL instead of my site url and a note that they can hit the "facebook connect" button to login.

That meaning the URL i give them is the URL that comes up after hitting the "facebook connect" button on my site.

But when i do this today, its short of a pop-up window, so it doesnt work.

Have anyone done this or know how to do this?

Best regards

Morten

I don't know of any decent way around this.

The facebook connect url is constructed on the fly with session keys and other information including a link to the page that generated the connect so facebook can redirect back to the page that started the link. The session key is unique for each user.

So by placing the link on facebook your kinda creating a loop. I don't believe there is a way around this. Facebook connect was not designed to be called from within facebook.

This is not as good, but every app and website using facebook connect has a fan page. If you link to the fan page there is a button there that will take you to your site. Not exactly what you want, but i don't believe it is possible to do it exactly as you want.

The link to your fan page would be. http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=xxxxxxxxx

Replace xxxxxxxx with your application id.

The only other option is to try the link to the facebook connect page on your site. That is the link the button uses. For example if your using boonex facebook connect that would be http://www.yoursite.com/modules/?r=facebook_connect/login_form

Hi

There got to be a way to make this work. Im not only thinking about placing the link on facebook, but whenever i advertise my site i will use this link. Later i will redirect my "home page" to this link, so that everyone that visit my site (and are logged in at facebook, only get this two confirm questions before they have a profile on my site with their avatar.

It has to be a way to direct someone to my site, then to the facebook connect url automatically.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Best regards

LoL

Does the facebook connection work for anyone who use dolphine 7.0.2?

On my site its connecting forever and at the end I had to uninstall cos it abuses my resourses.

There is no real advise on it nor any messege about being updated!

And deano92964 your The only other option is to try the link to the facebook connect page on your site. That is the link the button uses. For example if your using boonex facebook connect that would be http://www.yoursite.com/modules/?r=facebook_connect/login_form

does bring me at the same issue then if its in the login!

Is there anyone who has a solution without selling a mod that it works since facebook connection is a module for Dolphine!!!

Thank you!

I'm using the facebook connect url. the url that pops up when pressing the fb connect.

My problem is that i'm short of a pop-up window (the non pop-up window:))).

Take a look at my site (http://www.watig.com/m/mlm/join?code=MortenSæthre✫), press facebook and you see the url in the pop-up window, but after entering your username and password, it's the main window that get you logged in and show your site.

This can be done, i just dont know how yet :)

Anyone, please advice if u can help.

Yes. Facebook changed the API which is the reason your copy no longer works. The api change occured after 7.0.2 was released. Boonex has fixed this. You just need to update it with the copy that is in the SVN.

This issue is covered here.

A better looking URL is http://www.yoursite.ext/m/facebook_connect/login_form.
