Facebook Connect

Hi all i am using the facebook connect mod but is there anyway when a user joins it will take them to the profile edit page, i have installed DeeEms redirect mod for new users but i want this to work for facebook connect.

There are a number of facebook connect mods. So it will depend on which one as to exactly how it's done, but all will require a code change. Facebook connect normally redirects to the avatar module for image cropping after join which if modified you will loose that.

Looking through my orders i see you have mine. If thats the one your using, there is a support forum for my facebook connect mod.

Explain in there what you want it to do after first signup and again for what it is to do during normal logons. I'll see if i can come up with some code changes for you. But as i pointed out. If you want the redirect to occure after first connect(Join) You will loose the avatar. So i do not recommend it.

Cheers Deano, yes i bought yours, i could of done it myself but i'm lazy lol. Its self explanatory what i want to do, when people connect through your mod everyone comes from the united states and is either 40 or -1 so i want them to edit there profile straight away so everything is ok, as this is making my life hell.

Unfortunately location information is no longer returned by the new api. I am hoping that will change soon. Facebook has announced june 30'th for the new permissions to be in full effect and all apps updated for them. So i am hoping all the bugs regarding proper return of information will be operational or fixed by then.

But that also means everything will require extended permissions be granted which of course the member can refuse to grant which in turn gets you nothing for the profile info.

I see what i can come up with for redirect code. Perhaps i'll add a setting for it as a version upgrade if you can wait a couple of days.

this module called facebook connect only ! It's not full integration with facebook it's different idea

If YOU READ my post this is what i'm trying to ACHIEVE so think before you post , Facebook connect is brilliant and after making over 20 websites (some with forums) it takes the time out of people having to register, all they do is click facebook connect and its done so what is your problem, if you dont like it then dont use it, SIMPLE.

Sorry people but these sort of posts get to me as i came on here for help not be told facebook sucks. Anyway rant over. Cheers deano for the help

agree but still facebook suck for me im looking for a better mod so when they click fabook connect they can edit the profile information and add the email

How would this work as each user has a different edit page ID, what would be the page edit ???

If I am reading this correct, this is where I changed my redirect, on the Facebook Applications page for my site>Edit Application>Edit>Canvas then look for line

Optional URLs

Post-Authorize Redirect URL : (Where to redirect users when they first authorize your application. If left blank, this field defaults to the Canvas Page URL.)

Do not modify the facebook side of it. You will break it. The canvas page is not to contain any values. The redirect has to be done on the dolphin side in my code.

The facebook side of it is very pissy and if not setup correctly, facebook connect modules will not work.

Mine does most of that already. Except profile photo which is set as the avatar instead.

My new upcoming version will be even better. Still some things cannot be extracted from Facebook, but the ones you mentioned are.
