I question "Sounds"

How many of youse thinks that Sounds should be Audios instead? It is very common and blends well. See... Photos, Videos, Audios. Sounds is just ugly.

I changed the descriptions of this on my old site too - easy enough to do just go to admin > settings > languages and search for 'sounds'. Change whatever keys you need (probably all of them).

The fastest way is to export the localization key database table, change all, backup the table, empty the table and import the modified SQL file.

Changing all those keys one by one is a huge pain.

You can also export and modify the language file.

Note that you need unique Name, Flag and Title fields, or MySQL will not take it.

I know, I have done this long before I post this. That is not the answer I want. Do you expect us to do this every freaking time when there's update? HELL NO! The question I asked is "HOW MANY OF YOUSE THINKS THAT SOUNDS SHOULD BE AUDIOS INSTEAD?" Imagine this... Videos to Motions, Photos to Stills. Yeah, good idea... NOT! If we get enough people to agree... we will ask Boonex to rename "Sounds" to "Audios".

I also believe that this was a result of bad word choice. While "Sounds" works just fine, "Audio" (note, I said "Audio" and not "Audios," which just sounds silly) would definitely fit far better when taking the other multimedia items into consideration.

I think a word of choice by whomever is the creator, is their choice of word. if you are dissatisfied with the choice of word, by all means, this is an open source app, and you can edit whatever you wish to. there have been many things i have changed on here because i didnt like the specific wording. Why would it not be music, because not all sounds are music, though all music is audible.

I dont think its worth raising a stink over. there are way more critical issues that are needing attention. sorry cant ride this bus with you this time.

As much as I prefer "Audio" over "Sounds," I'm forced to agree with you. This can be changed easily with only a few clicks of the mouse and taps on the keyboard (as explained above). There are also many things I've changed from the default script, myself, and after going completely insane from having to do it several thousands of times, it becomes second-hand. Sure, your will is broken and you're running off emergency cylinders, but at least you can pride yourself in knowing you've managed to do the same thing again, until of course you have to do it again next week because you're forced to re-install, when you really should have chose to pay the other guy over your current guy who spent his time watching pornography on your money- without inviting you- when he should have been watching the server, but then things always go wrong and there are plenty of fish in the sea, but Rico was a fine man, and I will always miss that sailor from the harbor who would bring me a whiskey every now and then, but there is a serious issue here and the radio waves are not to be messed with, after all, ever since the war, we've been on our motorbikes non-stop to get a bite to eat at that diner down the road from our auntie's house.

It seems that you, like many others here want a script tailored to YOUR needs - that's a very selfish thing to want if you ask me. Please consider that there are a few thousand other members who might want something slightly different. At least Boonex were kind enough to provide you with an interface to change it should you need to.

'AUDIOS' is not actually a word - Whereas sounds is. Also - what exactly is a 'YOUSE'?

I think you might be better off with a completely different language file.

(Boonex were kind enough to provide you with a tool to do that too.)

I believe the entire reason BoonEx renamed the audio feature from "Music" to "Sounds" was because not everyone was using it for music.

I had to look up in the dictionary, you are right... Audios does not exists. Not even plural, shocking!

Selfish? Naw, am only merely asking to see how many people agreed. Apparently, not enough. "Sounds" wins. That's when I shut up.

Telling me that you think I be better off with a completely different language file. Funny, you didn't even bother to check "youse" in the dictionary yourself. Jumping conclusion gets you nowhere.

I didn't want to bring a dead post back to live but didn't want to start a new one either.

Just wondering if somebody actually changed the "Sounds" to "Audio" or "Music, and if yes, if you would be kind enough to share the language file with us.

I just changed all my "Sites" to "Movies" and thus was kinda tired of changing "Sounds" and decided to go for the lazy route.

Anyway I do agree that Audanbal is kinda spoiled and if you don't want peoples help, don't ask for it.

Also if you just do Flurmingo's solution and you make a separate language file for this, then whenever you update the boonex version you just update the languages files too.. easy enough.

You can change the menu option by going to Admin Panel > Settings> Language Files and editing this string:

_bx_sounds_top_menu_item

That will only change it in the actual main menu. You need to do a search in language string for Sounds and edit the ones you want.

I prefer Music two  Sound or Audios is greate but only if you website collect some crazy Audios or Sound

but if your site is a community is better to change to Music because your members will ignore the Audio and Sound Button'

I changed all my 'Sounds' keys to 'Music' just last week, took nearly an hour to go through them all manually. I stupidly went and recompiled the language later that day and they all reverted back to 'Sounds'! Doh.
