Lots of work to do but ....

I still have a ton of work to do but I thought you all might want to take a gander at 7.1 on a Zarconia dedicated server.

Keep up the good work! Was the installation without errors etc?

The only errors were my own. I opted to use Plesk to save money. A bit of a learning curve. In the end, Nathan and the crew were more than patient in putting up with my foot stomping idiocy till we got it all working.

Just to be clear, I zipped up almost 8 gigs of my 7.09 site and moved it along with the current database. The idea was to create a clone and test the upgrade process. It went so well I didn't even look back. I shut down the old site and turned the test site on as the production site.

I opted for the middle of the road Dedicated server. It is tremendously fast and I am very pleased with it.

Sounds pretty cool everything went OK!
So now you'll be waiting for the oficcial non-beta release to update once more and  have the site fully updated?

Yes the dedicated server is totally the best there is for large websites, along with grid, clustered and cloud solutions. But the later ones are for extremely big companies that might also need to consider CDNs.

Yes but i mean, how are you gonna do a sellective updating of D7.1b to D7.1? Take the roadmap way, or use the newest updating script ?

If D7.1b is working, why upgrade? I don't care if it's beta if it's getting the job done. The only way I'd upgrade at this point is if there were some compelling reason to do it, like fixing a massive security leak. I need to actually finish a site for a change.....

I know exactly what you mean...

Yes that's what my major concern was too, security fixes

Looks nice and runs fast. One observation, re-center your world maps to show USA instead of Africa. I did this for main world map, events map, users map and ads maps. Take a look: WeAreProGun

They finally got the maps working in 7.09 but now the same issue has arrived back again. The points on the map bear no relation to the area they are supposed to be pointing too. If you move the map, they all disappear or they are all grouped in one area.

Also, I don;t know who came up with those icons but they must have been smoking crack....
