Newbie been clever and messed up the profile tags, Can you guy's help?

Hi guy's and girls - I have been busy over the past few weeks since I discovered Dolphin - Truly amazing work Boonex. My first ever website and not had any problems until.... ...now!

I'm using Dolphin 7.0.4

I thought I would be clever and instead of having my new members typing in their own tags I would give them a list of about 50+ tags and they would just tick a few (to save unwanted mis-spelt tags).

All well and good until you go and try to click on a profile tag and instead of the person who is associated with the tag showing up I get everybody.

In the pic above - If you click on fun then the 2 people using fun as there profile tag should show up -  this is not happening and Instead all 3 members show up.

Likewise if you click the happy-go-lucky tag which only 1 person has as a tag all 3 members will show up.

I have tried to go back to the old tag system where they have to type but I think I may have upset the field builder for tags. The picture above is how it is now - I have nothing in advanced, messages or matching.

If someone could kindly let me know their values in the profile tags I will try to input it and hope it does the trick - If not then maybe I can overwrite all the profile tag files if someone could tell me what they are?

The last resort is a weeks work down the pan :-( and a fresh install.

Many thanks for any help out there.  Once again my fault not Dolphin which is amazing! I hope if I ever get more than 3 members to join my site lol and get some pennies I will be able to get a paid for licence.

Hope someone can help

Best wishes

Alan

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

So your either being clever and I have been dumb and missed a _ off of tags or your having a laugh at the new kid?

Houston we have a problem here - I know you know your stuff and your well known here.

All I need to know is what to type back into the tag field box.

Houston I tried _tag and _tags just in case so if this is where Im going wrong could you please go into a little more detail I would be much obliged.

I'm going to back up my custom html boxes and settings and prepare for a reinstall - just in case I don't get any help here

Best Wishes

Hey man. Make a predifined values list first example: nTags.Add all tag words to it.

Go to Profile Fields. Do not use Type: TextArea. Use Type: Multiple Selector for your new profile field

At the Advanced tab, use either Checkboxes or Select box at Multiple selector control. Add #nTags as Possible values

At Matching tab, choose Match with field: nTags

Set Match percent to 100

Now Save and test

Thanks nurke and hd4real - Both great suggestions - I much appreciate you guys taking the time to help me out.

I have managed to resolve the problem now - I bit the bullet and done a fresh install.  The tags are working as they should now so they are behaving themselves.

Out of curiosity I have taken a look at the freshly installed new tag box and it is pretty much the same as what I had anyway! The problem must have been elsewhere.

The picture above is of my new installation - So now I'm really puzzled by Houstons remarks about tags spelling?

I think I needed a fresh install as 1 of the members TestCase suddenly vanished and this had me worried for a while.

Oh well my problem is solved

Thanks to all

HL was just letting you know that you wrote misspelled wrong

"misspelled tags" Correct

"mis-pelt tags" Wrong

misspelt

  1. Simple past tense and past participle of misspell.

geez so he added a hyphen

Actually, if he got it out of the dictionary, that's where the hyphen would be located.

misspelled is also correct but not correct for the way he used it.

So, in this case, I think HL is the one who actually committed the error even though he didn't actually misspell anything.
