can u help with the installation.

This is what i did.

1) unzip it in /root/rms

2) then add

domainname.com;

boonex.com;

in access.bat

3) JAVA_HOME= /usr/local/jdk/jre;

4) RAY_SERVER_PATH=/root/rms;

5) webapp.virtualHosts=109.75.162.38

and also tried with webapp.virtualHosts=109.75.162.38:1935

in all apps.

6) chmod -v 777 *.sh ffmpeg.exe

7)  then run ./red5.sh

it shows app initilized i.e chat, im etc.

when i checked it in http://www.boonex.com/rms.html it says NetConnection.Connect.Failed i have also allowed the ports.

later

i also tried ./run_daemon.sh

ps ax | grep red5

it gives following

You have two ways :

1. Read carefully installation here : http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/RayMediaServerInstallation

2. Hire good expert for installation of you RMS

nishant,

im not trying to be a smart ass here, but if you are in fact a programmer, then you would realize what is being stated on this line:

resource [red5-core.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is java.net.BindException: Address already in use

at org.springframework.beans.BeanUtils.instantiateClass(BeanUtils.java:115)
so grep for java, KILL the PID
then fire the daemon again.....

RMS does not install the ffmpeg - the ffmpeg file should be located at /home/public_html/flash/modules/global/app

If it isnt there, search google and download it and place in that directory. if it is there, then it is a permission issue. sometimes the ffmpeg file permissions can be changed when installing new modules - dont know wh, just my experience.

If it is there and it is 777 permissions, then it is a group/owner problem.

if you have root access to your server, (using putty or something similar) and type "/scripts/fixperms folder_name_of_site and then go back to the location of the ffmpeg and change permissions back to 777

When using the connection test at http://www.boonex.com/rms.html, be aware that you cannot leave the connections parameter field blank, or it will NOT connect. int he connection parameter fields - example of what i have "mtsco.net,root,free" - Leave th port and application field as is - mtsco.net is my domain name, root is user, free is access level of rms.

I actually had to take notes on what i did for future reference, and looking back on them, there are a few things that I noticed that I did differentally. I will just go over my quick install. Hope this helps. Be aware that this is what  I did and I can not guarantee that it will work for you as well.

1. created a folder called RMS in my home directory - not root.

2. uploaded files for rms into that folder

3. open putty and ran "java -version". the output confirms that java was already installed (now i need to find the loaction of the java.conf. Which in my instance was /etc/java/)

4 open red5.sh and changed

JAVA_HOME=

to

JAVA_HOME=/etc/java/;

5. All the same as the original instructions from here on.

6. if using putty, cd to /home/your_site_name/public_html/flash/modules/global/app and change permissions to 777 for ffmpeg.exe.

For those wondering - here are the small things I wanted to Point out.

1. I am guessing that anything you save in the root folder will need root privileges to access it, and you do not want to give root access to anonymous users for any reason. That's my logic of it at least.

Also here is another thing that I noticed - I copied my RMS files over as root, therefore the group/user is root, not my general username.

3. When I first attemtpted to install RMS, i read the instructions and thought that I would have to upload and install a jre, and that's what i tried to do. After plugging in the new location of the jre that i installed, I got the error "java.net.BindException: Address already in use". Which led me to believe that JAVA IS ALREADY RUNNING!!!! ANd if this is the case, then I need to find the location of the java that is running already. Which in my case is in /etc/java/. I can't tell you where yours is, but it is a starting point to look in. You just need the folder, and make sure you have the trailing slash and the ";" at the end. I only say this, cause I forgot them both when editing my file.

6. If this file is not located in this directory, Google it, and save it to this directory on your server. If you do this, then you will need to change user and group to your_site_name, not root.

WHen running the http://www.boonex.com/rms.html - be sure that the onnection parameters are filled in. Here is an example of mine - which is working perfectly:

serverip = ccfcompsvcs.com

leave port and application as is

connection parameters = hopeetc.net,hopeetcnet,free

Like I said, these are a few small things that I noticed, and I hope that they help.

at one point it was part of the RMS package, and you would chmod ffmpeg there in the /opt/rms dir, then you could point your flash apps to that global rms.

I have the exact same setting and mine works. I really think you do not have a problem. WHat are you actually trying to do??? Have you tried a video chat between two users. Have you tried to use your board, or any other feature that uses the RMS?? Or are you basing your connection on the boonex link to check your connections???

Nishant,

i wrote you this AM, stating i had fixed your RMS, and sent you posts where i was able to connect my chat module to your RMS. not sure if you got that information? because it seems that even later in the day you were still working on getting yourself a connection.

your RMS was working around 10:00 AM EST

let me know if you got it squared away.

one thing i seen was that you had a terminator on your domain name in access.dat, that is incorrect

the domain names go one per line, and there is no terminator

i also took off the :PORT you had at the end of your IP because thats not needed either.....

oh well, who knows, guess you are not getting your boon messages?
