who is behind joombyte.com

Im wandering about joombyte dolphin hosting. I see alot of you guys are hosted with them. DO you know something who is behind joombyte ? What the company, how many people run it or is it one man show ? where are servers really located, whats the service, how much ram is allocated for rms hosting, are they reliable etc .... looking forward for your opinions...

I don't host with them but i can still answer a couple of those questions. Most companies do not run their own servers. Joombyte is no exception.

Their own website is hosted at softlayer.com which is located in texas. So most likely any hosting they do is done from servers leased from softlayer.

what host u would recommend deano ? Im  not only looking for good reliable hosting but also with some active tech support... Im a bit afraid of very litle companies with 1-2 persons - as if something happen to main person hosting go away quickly ... so I prefer little bigger companies with couple of stable years on the market. Im quite happy with hostgator where I host my 7 joomla sites but they dont offer anything really suitable for dolphin except dedicated .Im runnimng my dolphin test site on gaor and it runs pretty well but with some active members I suppose it changes quickly and I will have to look for something more powerfull. I heard VPS with hostgator sucks ...

I recommend Terabyte-Hosting.com

I have a dedicated there. The company is not big. Small staff. All i can say is the hosting is reliable and designed for dolphin. Run by DosDawg a regular here on unity.

If you must have a company with a large staff and 24 hour support then terabyte is most likley not the best choice. If you want reliable hosting setup specifically for dolphin then terabyte is the best choice IMO.

I host my RMS with Terabyte and host my site on a reasonable host with tons of great support. Some time in the future I will host both on one company, but for now this works well for me. I would check DosDawg out as he does know this software very well and makes a lot of these so called Dolphin hosts look foolish most times..Wink

whomever you choose, the community does and will provide powerful feedback. most times some will turned the blind ear and eye, to save a nickel. this is not always the better choice.

ladylightwolf thank you for the plug.
