andrey p,
i know you meant well with your answer that sent the user through three pages, but clearly you have not had the problem with the [L[Forums]]. i have clicked on that en link until the plastic has worn away from my mouses left button. it says it failed, FAILED andrey, so if you were really going to provide some sort of an answer, you would have had the alternate as well, what if the en link language compile does fail, then what andrey. becuase i have posted this same situation all over see more forumz and this blog, and you know what andrey, other than mrpowless trying to help, nobody has said anything. so prior to pasting some link that you are not even sure if that is the solution or not, get more information.

If it says - failed, so seems that main problem just incorrect permissions .. try to check orca`s folders ..
if want try to execute
chmod 777 groups/orca/cachejs/ groups/orca/log/ orca/cachejs/ orca/log/
chmod 777 groups/orca/classes groups/orca/js groups/orca/layout orca/classes orca/conf orca/js orca/layout
to it again (it set right permissions)

DosDawg,

Do you think you could find out what was going on with your problem? This is so freaking frustrating!! The problem will not go away with the EN button.

I just want to help :)

i am still working on the situation andrey, and thanks for your help sorry i went off on you bud. i get frustrated with those who post a link thinking that is the answer without actually trying that themselves. the sitaution lies deeper than even i suspected. i had something going on with base_dir. i still havent found out from support exactly what it was that they had done to get the [L[Forums]] to go away, i do know they said they exempted the user from the base_dir restriction, then that didnt see more work, so they exempted the domain name from the restriction. that must have worked, but we didnt know exactly as i was tweaking like fiend on the php.ini file and trying whatever i could to get it to work.

your help is appreciated, and i apologize for my onslaught towards you.

I took another quick look and before the script can do anything its supposed to clean jscache dog is there a file in there? its a long alpha numeric file with no format ie.txt

I copied /xml/langs/en.php and made a ge.php then the copmile come active. I hit the new ge and it changed the numbers. Boy I hope adding another helps unlock it. Or removing anything in there helps you.
DosDawg
mrpowless,
thank you i will go give that a try.

i do apologize to the entire board for my previous behavior. thank you all.

I had the same problem. My problem was fixed by logging in as administrator, going to the forums, and compiling the language file by clicking on 'en' where it reads 'Compile Languages' near the top.

You see, during compilation, a script strips all of the extraneous [L[ and ]]'s that I believe are necessary to support ORCA's multi-language feature.

I hope this helps.
