When we clic kthe advanced settings to set

we get this fatal erro i know something is missing here so i realy need some support here please i need to add some new settings and set the update reminder the update reminder is working fine but the only problem is the advanced settins this is the fatal error

Fatal error: Method name must be a string in /home1/flex/public_html/inc/classes/BxDolAdminSettings.php on line 158

we never edit this php file we check the file and this is the code from line 158.

$aFields = $this->{$this->_aCustomCategories[$mixedCategory]['content']}();

realy whoo is going to giv me support or my money back no one here this is waiting my time and my money i'm tier of this shit and people like hem riping people money so easy with out getting support i god mod from Aramis and they work so perfect and when i need support Aramis is giving me the support i need with out problems but this guy i got more than 4 weeks try ti get my shit to work and nothing so i can get this fix and my money back what you want me to do. say Thanks!

As I stated in my email to you, I understand you are having issues. I have installed this mod myself without any problems. There may be a valid reason that he has not responded.

There is no reason to post someone's mod here for free when they have copyrights to it. I will ask you again to please at least remove the download link from this post.

Also, this reminds me of Bambi's free stolen-script download web site. God, I lost brain cells from his reasonings.

Still, it's unwise to redistribute a script/modification when you do not own the rights to it. Just a reminder for anyone thinking about it.

The best course of action would be to first get your emotions under control, then second post a review in the market about your concerns for the product you purchased. Posting licensed and copyrighted mods in this forum as a free download is just a big nono no matter how mad you are.

Also, language is what makes us better than the apes. The proper use of it would carry you much further and garner you much more support for your current situation from the other members here at Boonex.

He announced his intentions to launch one, arguing that since he pruchased the modifications, he could do whatever the hell he liked with them. He also believed that for a work to be copyrighed, it had to be registered with a Government office.

Are you suggesting they allow you to preview the actual code of modifications? Or do you mean to have people review it before approving it?

Either way, that ain't gonna' happen. Also, Zarcon (yes, with a "c" -  ), who is a moderator, reported no issues with it. It would seem to be user error at best.

boonex need to test all the mods before they go on the markte so no one have problems like this and make boonex more profesional becuase they have a lot people making craps and the market have a lot of craps for sale

Far too many modifications for three people to screen. Perhaps if there was a group of Unity members chosen to do this yes, but developers wouldn't want anyone outside of the company having free copies of their modifications, I'm sure.

Ok. Even if they were tested, there will still be someone that cannot get it to run. Thats just the way it is. Every program, every script will always have a few people that it will just not run for.

For instance. I test all my mods on 3 different installs of dolphin prior to putting them in the market. Yet even tho they run perfectly on them, eventually someone runs into a problem.

When people who post these mods stop providing support, then the mod should be removed.

You just happen to be the one this script you got just don't work for.

So i am just saying, it happens.

This is the reason for the mod certification - to get Boonex's tick of approval, unfortunately the scheme is only voluntary, and as there is a cost associated with it, it is unlikely the the smaller / cheaper mods will get certification.

Regarding your problem, if you have restored the files and the issue is still present, then perhaps the problem is related to the database. Have you tried restoring the database backup?

I agree. Provision of support is a pre-requisite for being able to post a mod. Not sure who polices this though. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come, we've just got rid of expertzzz, don't need the same happening here.

I don't agree with the removal of abandoned modifications, free, anyways. For example, the abandoned IPB Integration provided allot of needed information for further work by other people, myself included. At most, I feel users should be warned that this modification is considered unsupported, but leave the leap to the user.

True, free mods usually are supplied 'as is' anyhows.

Have you tried uploading a fresh version of BxDolAdminSettings.php ?

I've made some progress on a continuation of the existing modification, which covers IPB 2.3.X. Nowhere near to jump at, though.

If you actually restored all backups including database and it still don't work, then how can you possibly blame the mod?

thanks to hem i got it my advanced settings working with out fatal error

the think is the mod is missing some instruction when you install the mod from the file alter_table.php this will give you the ID #

and u need to add the ID # here : on advanced_settings.php line 49

$_page_cont[$iNameIndex]['page_main_code'] = $oSettings->getForm(array('1','3','8','12','15','13','23','<ADVANCED SETTINGS ID NUMBER>'));

my ID is 63 so need to be like this

$_page_cont[$iNameIndex]['page_main_code'] = $oSettings->getForm(array('1','3','8','12','15','13','23','63'));

now everything is working perfect like before with no fatal error no more

UFO360, Im glad I was able to help resolve your issue and all is working now. I also appreciate you apology. You have the right to voice your opinion at any time here in the forum but there is always a way to settling things the right way. Posting a link for everyone to download a "paid" mod is not the answer though :) Lets just call this a "lesson learned" and keep on moving forward.

Hey all, ive just bought the Add friend Message Module, Im a bit of a novice, could any ov you guys pls explain;

1. run alter_table.php

There is a file named that, but how do i run it? does it just mean ftp to route? im totally unsure lol
