Profile Types and Different Requirements

Is there any way which I can have different profile types and different profile field requirements for those profile types?

Ex: Let say I have 2 profile types.

1. Jocks
2. Marching Band

I added custom profile fields to my profile page and making new, custom, memberships is easy from the membership admin screen. I'd have to go look but I'm pretty sure I made my changes without adding any mods.

I know I can add custom profile fields.  I have already done that.  The problem is if you join now you get bombarded with ALL of the profile fields even if they are not applicable for that type.  SO right now all of the jocks see the fields that are related to band members.  The jocks could careless about marching band, and as such shouldn't see them.

So you are saying you did this?

@MichelSwiss Thanks for that.  It looks like it will work, I guess I looked over that one in the market place.  I will probably go with that if Sky misunderstood my question.
