Well I geuss Boonex don't want people to interact unless they've paid mega bucks for their software, apparently, there is NO support what so ever for the free version.

The forums are completely closed to users of the free version.

1. We do want people to interact. Mega bucks that we want from people to be able to interact is $5 one time fee, which is also not payable if they buy any license.

2. Forums are not closed to anyone. Starters can't post, but can read. Advanced (those who paid $5) can post.

3. There's no guaranteed personal support for users of free version, however we do process bug reports and often reply irrespectively of what version is used and what is the profile status. Paying clients obviously have priority.

4. see more If you posted something to the forum, clearly and nicely, and after some time you haven't received a satisfactory reply - you may submit a ticker with your topic URL via BoonEx contact form.

5. Can't see any problem.

As what i said before, it's a dilema for boonex, ^_^
Boonex says , a starter can not post on forum unless pay $5 one time fee.
Yes it is good to avoid spammer.
But on the other hand, new people can not ask something in forum ^_^ at least you pay $5 to upgrade your membership.
So for a beginner, you can search another dolphin forums on the net,

if i were boonex, i will be dizzy how to avoid spammer (tons of spammer) like here.

Starter accounts should be able to search the forums and blogs, which should provide them with the answer to most of their questions.

Hmmm, "should" is the operative word, not everything is on the forums, so, posting a new problem, other people may have had the same problem and even though he/she fixed it, there was no need to post the fix, because no-one asked about it in the first place.

I've had more problems installing and running v7.06 than I've ever had with version 6.

I posted a ticket and was told to supply FTP info, I do not use FTP, it is insecure, and dangerous, and impossible to set up on a none standard see more port, the only access I can give someone is to set up a user account on my server, and use telnet SSH on a non standard port to install and set up dolphin, but I know for a fact that if I can't get it running properly, then, know-one else can, AND!!! I'm not paying for something that doesn't work, I'd rather try it first, see if it meets my requirements, then, if it's all what I expect, then I buy it.

I think they have a fairly good chance of finding their answer by searching. I think if almost everyone searched the forums before posting, they'd be satisfied. It's possible that they may need help with a problem that hasn't been on the forums before, but they can always submit a ticket.

I'm not saying this is the best way to go about things, but there are ways for starter accounts to get the help they need. I think it'd be interesting to allow starter accounts to post, but it'd also create some see more problems for advanced users (something would need to be worked out so no memberships felt cheated).

I also think you're wrong in claiming "if I can't get it running properly, then, know-one [sic] else can." It's possible someone has a solution to your problem that you haven't though of. I've had few problems with this script beyond actual bugs, and that's because I make sure my server meets the minimum requirements. It makes the difference, and you'll find the bulk of posts in the forums are about mis-configured servers.

I don't know why you think you need to actually buy a license before trying it, either. It's been said several times (and all over this site) that you can run this script with a free license (and even without one, there's no trial period). You'll find no features are disabled, and the only thing you have to endure are the advertisements at the bottom of the page.

i bought the $99.00 license and when i ask for support i learned that i need to ask an exact question and spell all the steps i took to get where i was at and then expound that 10 fold to the point that the support team understands what i typed. and the wait about 2 to 3 or days during the week for a response. like i said be as detailed as posible about your questions and then throw in a few more question to expound those questions. support has a very high intelligence level and they don't understand see more laymen questions like mine. Example i never used php, mysql or apache before and how to get to the root directory, somethine called an ascess (sp) file i get these email sent to my admin email from cron dameon global_register needs to be disabled: ok i sent for support about that and i am still waiting for an answer.they a sent about 16,999 emails so far over the last few months, 1 email every 5 minutes for the last 4 months. If i bought the $1,000.00 license what would i really get. till then if you hear about a good aftermarket boonex dolphin 7 support forum please let me know. i am blacklissted from boonex nerd for ????????????????? i followed the rules of the boonex constitution and still blacklisted.....
i tried new emails and still blacklisted before i can sign up for forums. good luck with your adventure.
i been reading books about php, mysql and apache and those are real complicated with no support for answers.
sams teach yourself php and mysql and apache in 24 hours with the disc (autorun) in the books dosen't work for widows 7 so what to do next......

1. Get a book on UNIX or Windows servers and read / educate yourself.
2. Developers are not baby sitters.
3. Goto http://php.net/ and read. a lot of the mystery can be removed by taking some time to learn what makes Dolphin tick.
4. Support, paid or volunteer are not baby sitters.
5. Goto http://www.mysql.com/ and read. Many more of your questions can be answered there.
6. Goto: http://www.w3schools.com/js/default.asp and read.
7. Goto http://www.w3schools.com/css/ and read.

Once see more you gain some what of an understanding of the platforms ( and this above names but a few ) your frustrations will diminish and turn playing with Dolphin into fun times. If not, you need to hire a web master. (g)

Good Luck
