Expertzzz & Unity. This is what's going to happen...

Expertzzz/Unity confusion, fraud, spam and chaotic content distribution created the biggest array of issues we ever had. And here's how we're going to solve the problem:

Thanks to your incredibly useful feedback I've been able to put up the following plan:

Yes, looks like a little bit of a wild run didn't do much good for Expertzzz, so it's time to go home - back to BoonEx. Now, same as Trac and Blog the Expertzzz site will be merged into BoonEx Unity. Thus, you will now have only one destination for your community software needs - BoonEx.com.

By now you probably have zillions of questions already... read on.

Moderators

This is it. We can't handle the load. Loads of questions is not a big problem, the problem is SPAM, fraud, low-quality mods, etc. So, we are going to introduce "moderators" functionality. Just as almost any online community does.

Pundits = moderators.

Moderators will have the power to "flag" forums posts, blog posts, etc. Moderators will review new product uploads and new ads, etc.... more about moderators actions/rights further in the post.

If something is "flagged", another moderator can "hide" it. Only admin can delete content.

Moderators will have to comment on their actions.

Moderators will be assessed by the community continuously.

BoonEx will try to provide incentives for moderators.

Communities

Browsing of submitted communities will be improved and will give you some sorting options.

The option to "hide" a community upon registration or later will be added. Some members want to have BoonEx licenses, but don't want to list their sites publicly in Unity for various reasons.

Blogs & Forums

The fact that we have both blogs and forums has created a lot of confusion lately and basically turned them into bad clones of each other.

We plan to introduce a set of "recommendations" as to what is better to be posted in blogs and what in forums.

Blogs

The blogs navigation comments system will be improved. New - report buttons for posts and comments, edit comments.

Extensions

Formerly known as "Downloadz". A name change is in order to avoid confusion with "download" as an action. Extensions will be ONLY actual pieces of code that improve/extend/change BoonEx software functionality.

All extensions will be submitted for preliminary review by moderators AND admin. Only quality products will be accepted.

Thus, we will be able to feature these products on BoonEx.com pages with more confidence.

Browsing is to be improved - with sorting options to be added.

All Extensions should have a verified downloadable file.

All Extensions will feature an OBLIGATORY 10% discount for Contributors.

Extensions will have a "report" button.

The default sorting of Extensions when browsing pages will depend on the author's "points" count for a recent period, which will primarily depend on member activity in the support forums.

Jobs

Comments for completed jobs + an ESCROW payment option.

Ads

Similar to Extensions, but for all sorts of services, instructions, etc. - hosting, custom modification offers, etc.

No download/buy button - only an URL. Anyone can rate/comment.

Ads are likely to be paid - like 5$/month or so. TBA.

Pundits

Except that they're also moderators, pundits will retain their current functionality and will also have assessment page, where all members can comment on how good/bad they are as Pundits.

Chat + IM

Yes, chat and messenger will be added for better users interaction.
