Dolphin 7.1.2 Beta

AlexT posted 2nd of May 2013 in Dolphin.pro News. 14 comments.

This service update fixes some important bugs and features some small improvements. We recommend to test it carefully, so unnoticed bugs can be fixed before the release. IMPORTANT: this version is not suitable for production sites and there will be no upgrade packs for it.

Dolphin : Computer/Mobile/TV For Improved Dolphin to mobile

Responsive Layouts, Mobile Templates, Native Apps And Universal UI.

Andrew Boon posted 8th of April 2013 in Dolphin.pro News. 49 comments.

Dolphin is getting more attention from the perspective of multi-device compatibility. We have been looking for the best way to make Dolphin more "adaptable" for quite a while, but it seems that there is still no definite consensus on what has to be done. Moreover, the new solutions designed to tackle the problem seem to only bring more confusion.

Using Fancybox for photo thumbnails to view larger image

geek_girl posted 2nd of April 2013 in Community Voice. 8 comments.

Boonex added Fancybox jquery lightbox to the distribution but seems to only be using it for viewing the blog attached image thing.  What a waste.  However, with a bit of rewriting the code, we can use fancybox to view the larger image of a thumbnail.  We will maintain the link under the thumbnail so we can still visit the photo

Motives: Answers, Blogging, Business

Andrew Boon posted 27th of March 2013 in Boonex News. 10 comments.

We have announced Motives a few weeks ago and it seems to have been the right thing to do. Motives, being a type of curation based on "rationale", are easier for many newcomers to relate to, and they just help with choosing the right kind of extensions to work with. Even non-believers will gradually see motives making a whole lot of sense,

Dolphin 7.1.1 Released!

Andrew Boon posted 14th of March 2013 in Dolphin.pro News. 21 comments.

Early adopters started using Dolphin 7.1 Osho a while ago. Pragmatics, however, opted for wait-n-see strategy. Osho turned out to be a very successful update with awesome new features, fresh new look and great performance. It needed some fixes, though, so pragmatics may have been right.  Anyway, today we are presenting Dolphin 7.1.1, which should lure everyone aboard. It's a "service" update, but it does

The Big Documentation Overhaul

Andrew Boon posted 7th of March 2013 in Boonex News. 13 comments.

Something epic is happening - we are "reconditioning" the entire Boonex Help area and all the Documentation resources. Our goal is to go through every document, update it, streamline it, sort them all out and put them in order. BoonEx documentation is going to be great. You may notice that BoonEx top site menu now features "HELP" link instead of the

Dolphin 7.1.1 Beta Is Here - Help Us To Test It

Andrew Boon posted 6th of March 2013 in Dolphin.pro News. 8 comments.

Dolphin 7.1 was a big and very important release. It couldn't be perfect, though - so we're perfecting it. Today's announcement is about a 7.1.1beta - a quick "try it" version, which won't have an upgrade pack neither from 7.1 nor to 7.1.1final. So, we ask you to download it and test it on a non-production site. Again, this version

Membership Management Pro upgraded

We have recently released the latest version of our Membership Management Pro software for Dolphin 7.1.  We cleaned up alot of the code and reworked many issues that were common to many installs. The new version is tested on php 5.3 and is tested and integrated with PayPal subscriptions, using Sandbox for Live mode, 2Checkout subscriptions, and Authorize.net’s Automatic Recurring Billing. BoonEx Market Improvements - ATTENTION ALL VENDORS!

Andrew Boon posted 20th of February 2013 in Boonex News. 14 comments.

BoonEx Market is what makes Dolphin the world's most powerful social networking webs ite platform. Extensions and the people behind them gradually formed a strong backing for Dolphin - something we value tremendously and plan to stimulate further.   In the last couple of weeks we have made a few improvements to BoonEx Market and BoonEx site in general...

Dolphin iPhone-iPad-iPod-Android Apps v.1.7 Released!

Andrew Boon posted 18th of February 2013 in Dolphin.pro News. 20 comments.

Just as most of the web pundits predicted, mobile browsing is overtaking desktop. Facebook officially acknowledged  that their US mobile traffic surpassed desktop traffic for the first time. Virtually all of it comes from native iOS and Android Apps. We have been focusing on native mobile apps for Dolphin for a long while now and gradually they are maturing into a platform.

Introducing Motives

Andrew Boon posted 13th of February 2013 in Boonex News. 23 comments.

With the new Dolphin 7.1 we have a great platform for further development and BoonEx Market is getting healthier with more quality extensions appearing more often than ever. These are great news for geeks, but we see great number of people coming to BoonEx.com and not really realising the potential of Dolphin coupled with BoonEx Market offers.

Step by Step tutorials working with Dolphin

martinboi posted 7th of February 2013 in Community Voice. 0 comments.

I have started putting together very detailed tutorials about the different elements of Dolphin mostly just so I can keep track of exactly how some of the core systems work.  It was getting old having to trace code around through classes over and over trying to remember how something was being generated.   Since D7.1 was released, it's been really fun

Since 2007 many years have past and I have to say that BoonEx Unity is a outstanding unity and a great sample of a cool cause :-) Yep I'm a unity member since 2007 and I love it all. I work on my sites as a hobby since then and had lots of up and downs during those years. I would like

use Real Name no Username

HiI want delete the UserName option. I would like, in my site, that users use only Firstname and Lastname. Dolphin7.1 forces users to enter a Username... why? itself is also removed, many things do not work

We all have our own opinion on hosting company's, but i have to mention that i encountered an issue yesterday and TMDHosting was honest, took their time and assured me on a specific issue. I been with them for a while and they are reliable.

Building a better pyramid

I remember ages ago. Well at least it seems that way when Boonex first got off the ground. Over 5 maybe 6 years ago. They had no "free licenses" back then. Seems like I remember paying $100 or so for one and another $100 for modules because there were not many at the time which were free. And more money

Exactly 1111 days after the release of Dolphin 7.0 we're happy to announce the new "feature" update - Dolphin 7.1 Osho. Yes, it took us almost 3 years to make sure Dolphin 7 is stable enough and to create a new set of functionality and design that is now going to be the new flagship. Many web-masters already started using

Andrew Boon posted 24th of December 2012 in Boonex News. 246 comments.

The 2012 is almost over, and it looks like there will be the 2013 after all. Which is great! We need the 2013, because it should be a great year - a year of new developments, pivots, re-discoveries and good fun. 2012 was tough, tedious and at times really challenging. Economies struggled, online businesses entered drier periods and "social networking"
